Code of Conduct

Summary

Participation in this event, and the subsequent collaboration on the publication is contingent on adherence to this code of conduct. We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free workshop experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any part of the workshop, including talks and discussion groups, Twitter and other online media. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the workshop and future events at the discretion of the organisers.

In order to foster a positive and professional environment we encourage the following behaviours:

  • Use welcoming and inclusive language
  • Be respectful of different viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accept constructive criticism
  • Focus on what is best for the community
  • Show courtesy and respect towards other community members

Details

“Participant” refers to any person involved in the workshop or subsequent events. This includes attendees, organisers, invited speakers and funder representatives.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Any form or behaviour to exclude, intimidate, or cause discomfort is a violation of the Code of Conduct.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the workshop and subsequent events.

Reporting

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an organiser immediately either via email or direct message via Zoom.
